Spaceship Landing

"If your gonna go now, well I wanna go with you.
Oh yeah. Your a fucked up man, with a fucked up plan."

-Kyuss

Well, I've been holed up, keeping to myself for too long. Worked through a lot, pretty much by myself. I've also been really busy with creating. Working on a lot of music and drawing.
I finally have a name for my music I like, I hope you guys like it too and could give me some feedback. The name I have settled on is, Ozmagenta. A portmanteau of Ozma and magenta.
Ozma as a homage to the Melvins and magenta as one of my favorite colors and the name oz magenta is the name of a native northern california flower. I have been working feverishly, writting, recording, wittling. Amassed a nice assortment of guitar effects and went to work.
I have 4 solid songs and an assortment of scribbles that may or may not go somewhere.

Songs so far-

1.) Deer on the Highway - Erek you heard the first very rough cut of this sprawler, its been fine tuned and clocks in at the 9 minute mark and is rife with sludge riffage.
2.) Missing
3.) Of Swine and Foul - Dan I have written a lot based on our Gangreen Pudding discography, heh.
4.) Poppy Field - I wrote this before settling the name Ozmagenta, and this pushed me even further towards the Frank L. Baum references.

Scribbles:
Home Illusion
-Rats and Fleas
-Plague Stomp
The Audible Glass Elephant
On the Walls
Quadraped
Little D
Dead Hooker/Lover Mojo
Laced Mutton
The Bees in the Butter
Arana/Arachnid Gulch
A Bill of Goods
Fuzzy Rocks
That's about it so far.

Intake:
Words-
I got a subscription to National Geographic and have been devouring those.
Also worked my way through most of Michael Chabon's catalog, only one or two I haven't read I think.

Music-

Melvins - The Bride Screamed Murder - I have to say, it took a few listens, but I love this album. It is absurd but when have the Melvins not been absurd. I love the heavy metal drum line deal, the wacky interludes and even the sludgy almost-collapsing cover of My Generation. The last song is almost, sweet, heh.

Kyuss - Muchos Gracias, ...And The Circus Leaves Town, Welcome to Sky Valley - What even needs to be said, its Kyuss.

Isis - After reading of there soon-to-be calling it quits, I've been listening to everything they have ever written, hoping it isn't true.

Others - Baroness, Russian Circles, Mogwai, Shrine Builder, and other stone grooves.

I will be in touch, I promise, and will post a song as soon as I like one enough to do so.
